White Horse Cottages are all owned and renovated by Stewart & June Perkins, who also run the White Horse and Griffin hotel and restaurant. All the cottages are listed buildings and when bought were completely derelict.

Kipper Cottage was the first one, followed by Perkins Cottage & Griffin Cottage, and finally the Boathouse, which was finished on 5th July 2005. The Marstalls at Sandsend was empty for 20 years before being fully renovated and extended in 1992. As most of you will know, the White Horse and Griffin was derelict and empty for 50 years and Stewart spent 10 years rebuilding it before reopening it as a hotel and restaurant in 1994.
